King Hua Center is a proposed 2 million square foot mixed-use development to be
located in a very busy area in downtown Taipei. Our engineers provided traffic analysis, parking demand study and traffic improvements design to assist the developer in obtaining a zoning change for the site. All of the parking for 2,000 cars and 1,500 motorcycles will be underground, below the second level basement. A 20-space truck dock will also be built on this level. Traffic congestion on the streets, the depth of the parking levels and the large number of cars to be parked, placed unusual, restrictions on the parking design. Three sets of over-lapped, spiral ramps were designed to facilitate the traffic flow. A pair of street-median ramps are proposed to handle the high left-turn traffic volumes. |
